During Phase 5, the following tricky words (which can't yet be decoded) are introduced:
Continue to dictate sentences.
Ask your child to write the sentence independently, keeping their letters on the line and forming letters correctly.
They will need to listen, recall, write the sentence then read it back to check it makes sense.
Practise reading and then writing these sentences.
Mrs Smith went into town to get fish and chips.
The ship sailed on the the sea.
The snail looked for his friend the slug.
We like to make pancakes.
I like to ride my bike to the shop.
The tractor got stuck in the mud.
It rained for eight days and the river was high.
