PART 2 - Thursday 24th June 2021

Today we are going to start to plan our final piece of writing. You should chose 2 of the 4 reasons you chose on Monday. Chose the 2 that you feel most passionate about or 2 that you feel you can talk about the most. 

We will start writing our final piece tomorrow.

There is a planning template below that you may find helpful or you can create your own plan. 

PART 2 - Tuesday 22nd June 2021

Today's task is about building vocabulary for the final piece of writing. Look at the 10 words, you should find the definition and put the words into a sentence showing you are able to use the word in context. You can either use the table provided or create a similar idea.

PART 2 - Monday 21st June 2021

At the end of the week we will be writing our discussion piece of writing where we look at the reasons why deforestation happens and look at the positives and negatives of each of these.

Today you need to identify 4 reasons why deforestation happens, you can use google to help you. Then for each of the 4 areas, I would like you to list the positives and Negatives. I have included an example below. You can either uses the planning sheet below or create your own version. Keep this work as it will help you plan your paragraphs for you final piece.


Reason for Deforestation: To use the wood from the trees

Positives: Provide building materials, provide jobs for lumberjacks, wood can be a sustainable resource.

Negatives: Trees in rainforest do not go grow back, trees can no longer take in carbon dioxide, trees provide habitats for animals, trees hold moisture and release this through transpiration (an important part of water-cycle.
